Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a Design Engineer to join their Staverton operation in Gloucestershire. The role emphasizes converting customer requirements into practical engineering solutions while supporting quality, manufacturing efficiency and continuous improvement.

You will create and update engineering drawings, compile bills of materials and manufacturing documentation, and work with production, sales, customers and suppliers to deliver designed products.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience as a Design Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in CAD software such as Solid Edge or AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication across departments.
• Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Create and update engineering drawings for new and existing products.
• Produce bills of materials, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Support production teams with technical advice and design improvements.
• Work with customers to understand requirements and provide engineering solutions.
• Assist with product testing, validation, and performance improvements.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to source materials and components.
• Investigate technical issues and implement corrective actions where required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and new product development projects.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant quality, safety, and environmental standards.
