Job summary

Omega Resource Group seeks a Design Engineer for its Staverton, Gloucestershire operation. The role focuses on CAD-driven development of standard and bespoke products, creating drawings, BOMs, and technical specs, while collaborating with production and customers to deliver robust engineering solutions.

Successful applicants will have a mechanical engineering degree or equivalent, strong CAD skills (Solid Edge/AutoCAD), and a good grasp of manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

  • Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Previous experience as Design Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in CAD software such as Solid Edge, AutoCAD, or similar.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication across departments.
  • Commercial awareness and customer-focused approach.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update engineering drawings for new and existing products.
  • Produce bills of materials, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support production teams with technical advice and design improvements.
  • Work with customers to understand requirements and provide engineering solutions.
  • Assist with product testing, validation, and performance improvements.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to source materials and components.

  • Ensure designs comply with relevant quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Design Engineer to join their manufacturing operation in Staverton. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong CAD and technical design experience to support the development of both standard and bespoke products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and update engineering drawings for new and existing products.
  • Produce bills of materials, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
