Travail Employment Group is recruiting a Trainee Design Engineer for a world-renowned manufacturing company in Gloucester. The role offers a permanent contract with a salary of £28,000–£35,000 plus benefits.

The successful candidate will create manufacturing and design drawings, prepare material lists, and manage projects from concept to production while liaising with customers and suppliers in the UK and overseas.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering is useful but not required if candidate has strong design experience.
• Strong design background with experience in drawing processes and manufacturing context.
• Knowledge of quality standards and manufacturing processes is advantageous.

Our client is a market leader within their field supplying to the Aerospace, Automotive and Engineering Industries - due to an increase in their order book they are looking to recruit an additional Design Engineer to join their team at an entry level or experienced.

The role of the Trainee Design Engineer will involve:

• Providing manufacturing and design drawings for existing products, as well as bespoke
• projects
• Preparing drawings and designs to support the sales and manufacturing process
• Providing material lists
• Managing projects and designs from concept stage through to production
• Liaising with customers and Suppliers both within the UK and overseas

Skills and Experience:

- Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering (or equivalent) would be useful but will

also consider a strong working background within a design role

- Competent in using AutoCAD and a working knowledge of SolidEdge would be an

advantage.

In addition the successful Design Engineer will have experience of the design / drawing process and will have a high attention to detail. You will also have an knowledge of working to quality standards and have an understanding of the manufacturing process.
