Junior Data Engineer - 12 Month FTC

Join us as a Junior Data Engineer on a 12-month fixed term contract to advance your career with a global market leader.

How you will make an impact

You will be responsible for daily applications management, functional enhancement, and data stewardship supporting AIG’s International Actuarial function.

Key responsibilities:

1. Analysis, design, technology development, and delivery accountability for mission-critical actuarial processing initiatives across AIG.
2. Manage data for UK/Europe processes, including segmentation during Month/Quarter end close, used in Loss reserving for creating Gross and Net loss triangles.
3. Provide data for Monthly Global AvE reporting (UK/Europe).
4. Maintain Quarter end processes, including data for international segmentation, IBNR calculation, and reserving processes.
5. Deliver reports to Reserving Actuaries monthly and quarterly.
6. Provide international premiums and losses data for UK/EU regulatory reporting and statutory processes.
7. Support actuaries with ad hoc data requests.
8. Support audits across actuarial system processes.
9. Maintain relationships with business and IT partners.
10. Ensure solutions adhere to AIG security standards.
11. Document and improve actuarial process documentation.

What you'll need to succeed:

1. 3+ years of Data Engineering experience.
2. Experience in Data Application management.
3. Experience with Mainframe technologies: COBOL, JCL, TSO, ISPF, ENDEVOR, SDSF, JMR, IBM File Manager.
4. SAS programming skills.
5. SQL experience.
6. Desirable: Oracle, PowerBI, Snowflake, JAVA, Microsoft technologies.
7. Desirable: R and Python experience.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
9. Ability to work under challenging production conditions with tight deadlines and budgets.
