Job summary

Harnham is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to own the design, build, and optimisation of data pipelines within a modern AWS-based data platform. You will work closely with a growing data team to accelerate analytics, AI-ready data products, and semantic layers.

You will gain exposure to end-to-end data lifecycle, from ingestion to modelling, while developing your technical expertise and contributing to data-driven decision making across the business.

Qualifications

• Strong capability in Python and SQL for building data pipelines.
• Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines in a modern cloud data platform.
• Proficiency in dbt or similar transformation frameworks and AWS data services.

THE ROLE

You will take ownership of building, improving, and maintaining data pipelines within a modern AWS-based data platform. Working closely with experienced data engineering and cloud architecture professionals, you will gain exposure to the full data lifecycle while developing your technical expertise.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing data ingestion pipelines from product and third-party sources into a modern cloud data platform.
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimising data pipelines and scheduled workloads.
• Building and maintaining data models using dbt to support analytics and reporting requirements.
• Supporting the development of AI-driven data products and semantic layers.
• Creating trusted datasets and business-facing data assets to support company-wide decision making.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You will bring strong capability in:

• Python development.
• Advanced SQL.
• Building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Data modelling and warehousing fundamentals.
• dbt or similar modern transformation frameworks
