Job summary

Atom bank, based in Newcastle, is seeking a Junior Credit Risk Analyst to support the review, oversight and strategic development of credit performance across lending products. You will translate complex data into clear insights that inform lending strategies, automated decisions and portfolio quality.

You will independently own and run Credit Risk MI processes end-to-end for governance committees, spotting trends and advising senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Exceptional data manipulation, interpretation and problem-solving with strong attention to detail.
• Strong MS Excel skills for organising data, analysis of trends and clear reporting.
• Ability to translate complex quantitative data into plain English and actionable recommendations.
• Familiarity with R, SAS or Python is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• MI & Governance Reporting: Own the production and analysis of credit risk MI.
• Portfolio & Trend Analysis: Perform credit reporting and investigative analysis on new business flows.
• Strategy Optimisation: Support development and refinement of credit risk strategies and tests.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Commercial, Finance and Underwriting teams and external partners.
• Data & Model Governance: Ensure credit data and models are well documented and tested.
