Job summary

HCR Law in Cambridge is seeking a Solicitor with up to 4 years’ PQE to join the Construction and Engineering team. This growth role offers hands-on experience on both transactional and contentious matters alongside seasoned lawyers.

You will develop exposure across construction work, advisory drafting, and dispute resolution while receiving structured supervision to build a strong technical foundation early in your career.

Qualifications

• Be qualified in England and Wales with 0–4 years of PQE.
• Strong drafting, research and analytical skills.
• Commercially minded and focused on delivering an excellent client service.
• Clear and confident communication with colleagues and clients.
• Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
• Be proactive, organised and keen to take ownership of development.
• Genuine interest in construction, engineering and the built environment.

Responsibilities

• Support on construction agreements and professional appointments/terms of engagement.
• Advise on standard-form and bespoke construction contracts.
• Assist with construction and engineering disputes and dispute-resolution matters.
• Support work involving adjudication, arbitration, litigation and negotiated settlements.
• Assist with public procurement and related commercial issues.
• Work on matters for clients across public and private sectors.
• Contribute to projects spanning real estate development, education and energy.
