Job summary

Junior Conflicts Analyst in London for a highly regarded US law firm. Hybrid role with office attendance 3–4 days a week; you will support firmwide initiatives, including new business intake and lateral hiring, by identifying and resolving ethical conflicts and related business issues.

The role offers exposure to senior colleagues in London and the US and is ideal for someone with law firm experience keen to transition into conflicts analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/ graduate degree with strong academic performance required.
• At least 12 months experience at a leading law firm.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel.
• Willingness and ability to learn conflicts analysis.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate information from partners and practice coordinators using Intapp Open intake system for accuracy.
• Review and process new business and lateral hire requests, conduct thorough searches on firm databases, and research entities.
• Analyse search results in accordance with applicable ethical rules and Firm policies and prepare detailed conflicts reports and propose effective resolutions.
• Maintain and update the firm’s conflicts database with current information on clients and matters, documenting conflict resolutions and waivers.
• Review and draft engagement letters, waivers/consents, and ethical screens.
• Participate in testing and review of new software systems and applications.

Junior Conflicts Analyst

Highly regarded US law firm is hiring a Junior Conflicts Analyst to join its growing and dynamic Conflicts Department in London. The Junior Conflicts Analyst will support firmwide initiatives, including new business intake and lateral hiring, by identifying and resolving ethical conflicts and related business issues, ensuring compliance with firm policies, and working closely with senior colleagues in both London and the US. This role is ideal for someone who has experience of working in a law firm and is keen to transition into a Conflicts based role.

Conflicts Analyst – What you will be doing:

• Evaluate information obtained from partners and practice coordinators through the Intapp Open intake system for accuracy and completeness
• Review and process new business and lateral hire requests, conduct thorough searches on the Firm’s databases, and research entities using internal and third-party resources
• Analyse search results in accordance with applicable ethical rules and Firm policies and prepare detailed conflicts reports and propose effective resolutions
• Maintain and update the firm’s conflicts database with precise and current information on clients and matters, ensuring thorough documentation of conflict resolutions and any waivers obtained
• Review and draft standard engagement letters, waivers/consents, and ethical screens
• Participate in the testing and review of new software systems and applications

Conflicts Analyst – What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s/ graduate degree or the equivalent with strong academic performance required
