Junior Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Applications are invited for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery, based at Royal Preston Hospital initially for a 12-month period.

Although this post is not recognised for training purposes, considerable "hands-on" training is provided in line with skills and experience.

In this role, you will work in a supportive and educational environment. This post is not recognised for training purposes, but substantial practical training will be given according to your skills and experience.

Main duties of the job

This position offers Plastic Surgery experience in a major trauma centre and is suitable for individuals seeking CT / ST1/2 level experience, or ST3. It is suitable for pre-ST3 post experience.

  • Admission of new patients, including clerking.
  • Participate in ward rounds on adult and children's wards during the normal working day, except during natural breaks or when clinical duties elsewhere demand.
  • Provide day-to-day care of patients.
  • Offer cross-cover for colleagues as required.
  • Attend operating theatres.
  • Participate in outpatient clinics (dependent on Consultant attachment).
