Job description

Job summary

Applications are invited for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery, based at Royal Preston Hospital initially for a 12-month period.

Although this post is not recognised for training purposes, considerable "hands-on" training is provided in line with skills and experience.

You will work in a supportive and educational environment. Please note, this post is not recognised for formal training.

Main duties of the job

This role provides Plastic Surgery experience in a major trauma centre and is suitable for individuals seeking CT / ST1/2 level experience, or ST3. It is ideal for pre-ST3 post experience.

  • Admission of new patients, including clerking.
  • Participate in ward rounds during the working day, except during breaks and other clinical duties.
  • Manage day-to-day patient care.
  • Provide cross-cover for colleagues as needed.
  • Attend operating theatres.
  • Attend outpatient clinics (depending on Consultant attachment).
