Job summary

Polytec Personnel Ltd is seeking a Junior Buyer to join a fast-paced Supply Chain team on an 11-month fixed-term contract. Location: Ely (CB6) and Cambridge (CB24), with hybrid working and a 37.5 hour week.

You will support day-to-day purchasing, supplier management and procurement analysis, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to meet cost, quality and delivery targets. The role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and offers a friendly team environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations or related field
• Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or a similar role

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders, expediting, returns and supplier queries
• Support RFIs, RFQs, supplier sourcing and benchmarking
• Build and maintain effective supplier relationships and monitor performance
• Analyse purchasing, cost, inventory and supplier data, producing reports and dashboards
• Work with engineering and other stakeholders to resolve supply and quality issues
• Support supplier onboarding, compliance, risk management and continuous improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve cost, efficiency and supply chain performance

Salary: £33,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
