Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Junior Buyer to join a high-performing procurement team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role encompasses creating POs for direct and indirect items, tracking orders, and expediting to receipt while liaising with UK and international suppliers.

You will support inbound logistics, maintain MRP data and KPIs, and contribute to process improvements with the purchasing team. Prior manufacturing exposure is preferred for progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering business.
• Experience in a purchasing, logistics, supply chain, administration or manufacturing role.
• Previous supplier liaison and experience of placing purchase orders.
• Previous exposure to an MRP or ERP system is advantageous, and previous MS Excel experience essential.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Raising Purchase Orders for direct materials, components, and indirect items.
• Track orders, shipment dates and delivery confirmation in MRP systems.
• Expediting purchase orders through to receipt.
• Supplier liaison and relationship building with UK and international partners.
• Support inbound logistics and supplier returns.
• Maintain procurement data in MRP and KPIs relating to supplier performance.
• Work with procurement team to improve procurement processes.

The Junior Buyer will join a high-performing and supportive team of Buyers, with responsibility for operational purchasing tasks. These could include; raising purchase orders, expediting, updating MRP/ERP systems with supplier information, lead times and pricing.

The role would suit an experienced administrator or someone looking to develop their career within a purchasing or supply chain environment.

Specific duties of the Junior Buyer include:

• Raising Purchase Orders for both direct materials and components for manufacturing and indirect items

• Expediting of purchase orders through to receipt
• Supplier liaison, communication and relationship building both with UK and international partners

• Work with procurement team to improve and refine procurement processes

Junior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
