Job summary

Insight Commodities in London is expanding its Oil Brokerage desk and seeks ambitious, commercially minded individuals to join the team as Junior Brokers. No prior oil or energy market experience required; training and mentoring are provided.

You will learn middle distillates markets, support senior brokers with pricing and client inquiries, build relationships with market participants, and develop the skills to become a revenue-generating broker within about 18 months.

We are working with an established international energy brokerage that is expanding its Oil Brokerage desk in the City of London.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team, learn directly from experienced brokers and develop the skills and relationships needed to become a successful revenue-generating broker.

You do not need previous oil or energy market experience.

We are interested in ambitious individuals who are commercially driven, confident on the telephone, eager to learn and prepared to put in the work to succeed.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are particularly interested in candidates from either of the following backgrounds:

Junior Brokers – Any Market

You may already be working on a brokerage desk covering equities, FX, fixed income, commodities, derivatives or another financial market.

Perhaps you're looking for a new product area, greater earning potential or a clearer opportunity to progress into a fully-fledged broking position.

Alternatively, you may have built an exceptional sales track record in a competitive, target-driven environment and be looking to transfer your skills into financial broking.

The Opportunity

Working alongside experienced Middle Distillates Brokers, you will:

• Learn the middle distillates markets, including gasoil, diesel, jet fuel and related financial products
• Support senior brokers with pricing, market information, trade execution and client enquiries
• Develop relationships with market participants and learn how to generate new business
• Gain exposure to international energy markets and established industry clients
• Build the technical knowledge, commercial confidence and client relationships required to become a successful broker

The aim is to develop the successful candidate into a fully-fledged broker within approximately 18 months, subject to performance and development.

What's on Offer?

• Base salary up to £60,000, depending on experience
• Discretionary bonus with additional performance-related earning opportunities
• 10% of quarterly P&L when quarterly P&L exceeds £50,000
• 15% of quarterly P&L when quarterly P&L exceeds £80,000
