Job summary

Artic Building Services is seeking a motivated Junior AC Engineer to support our experienced team on a range of air conditioning projects across London. You will gain hands-on experience installing AC systems, assisting with commissioning, routine maintenance, and safety compliance, with mentoring from senior engineers.

This role offers a clear development path in a respected hard facilities management provider, with emphasis on teamwork, continuous learning, and delivering reliable building

Qualifications

  • A strong understanding of fundamental mechanical principles and an interest in HVAC systems.
  • NVQ Level 2 or F-Gas Cat 1
  • Ability to identify issues, think logically, and contribute to finding effective solutions.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and contribute positively.
  • A proactive attitude and a strong desire to acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • Familiarity with AC components and principles (e.g., refrigeration cycle, heat transfer) is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on assistance during the installation of AC systems, including refrigerant pipework, ductwork, and electrical connections, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Participate in the commissioning of AC systems, assisting with functional testing, performance verification, and system balancing under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Undertake routine maintenance tasks on existing AC systems, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and basic system checks. Assist in diagnosing and rectifying faults and breakdowns.
  • Adhere strictly to all company health and safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
  • Actively seek opportunities for professional development, staying up-to-date with industry best practices, new technologies, and relevant regulations.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues, site personnel, and clients to ensure project success.

About the Role:
