Job summary

The University of York seeks a skilled maintenance technician to join its multi-skilled team. You will perform reactive and planned maintenance, installations, alterations and repairs across the University estate, ensuring safety and quality in every task.

You will also oversee contracted work and participate in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support, helping to keep critical facilities operational for staff and students.

Qualifications

• Craft trade apprenticeship completed to City and Guilds Level in core trade
• Experience in reactive and planned maintenance and small works
• Ability to implement practical techniques in relevant work area
• Current UK driving licence
• Knowledge of safety regulations including COSHH and risk assessment
• Experience using technology/digital aids to manage tasks and record information (CAFМ system)

Responsibilities

• Undertake reactive and planned maintenance, installations, alterations and repairs across the University estate
• Oversee contracted maintenance and repair work
• Participate in standby and on-call rota for out-of-hours and weekend cover
• Respond to business-critical operational issues as they arise
