Campus Joiner & Maintenance Technician (Carpentry)

Job summary

Loughborough University on the campus is seeking a joiner to join a team of tradespeople and help with reactive and planned maintenance tasks. You will perform joinery work for students, staff and tenants across the campus and collaborate with Plumbers and Electricians.

You will manage your own workload with support from your line manager, using Archibus for task updates and an ipad for reporting. You will also complete wood machining and preparation for maintenance or alterations.

Qualifications

• Experience of site and shop work.
• Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Demonstrate ability to understand Drawings / schematic drawings.
• Education to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths & English.
• NVQ level 2 diploma or equivalent in Carpentry / Joinery site work & bench work.
• Be available to participate in the On Call Rota which runs evening and weekends throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Joinery and trades work for students, staff and tenants across the campus.
• Complete machining and preparation of wood in connection with maintenance work and alterations.
• Receive work via Archibus and provide updates to jobs using an ipad; manage workload with line manager support.
