Job summary

The University of York is seeking a multi-skilled maintenance technician to perform reactive and planned maintenance, installations, alterations and repairs across the campus estate. The role includes overseeing contracted works and participating in a standby and on-call rota to ensure out-of-hours support for critical operations.

Applicants should hold a City & Guilds level in the core trade, have experience with CAFM systems, and possess a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Craft trade apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
• Experience in reactive and planned maintenance and small works.
• Knowledge of safety regulations (COSHH, risk assessment).
• Experience using CAFM or similar systems to manage tasks.

Responsibilities

• Involved in reactive and planned maintenance, installations, alterations and repairs across the University estate.
• Oversee contracted maintenance and repair work; standby and on-call rota to provide out-of-hours cover.
