Blackburn with Darwen Council seeks an experienced Job Evaluation Co-ordinator to support fair and consistent pay and grading across the Council and schools. You will advise managers on job descriptions, person specifications and evaluation processes, ensuring alignment with organisational design principles and JE schemes.

You will lead evaluation activity, maintain records, support appeals, and work with HR, OD colleagues and Trade Unions to promote transparency, equality and good governance.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with managers and stakeholders in a governance-led environment.
• Knowledge of job evaluation principles and processes.
• Ability to influence and challenge professionally in policy and design.
• Accreditation as a recognised job evaluation scheme evaluator (Hay and/or NJC).

Responsabilités

• Lead initial conversations with managers to discuss service and role requirements.
• Support managers to produce accurate job descriptions and person specifications.
• Ensure consistent consideration of team structures and accountability differentials.
• Lead and oversee job evaluation activity for new, revised and existing posts.
• Apply relevant job evaluation schemes, including Gauge and Hay.
• Identify and escalate any issues with potential equal pay implications.
• Undertake quality assurance, auditing and benchmarking of job evaluations.
• Maintain records, evaluation rationales and standard documentation.
• Support job evaluation appeals and participate in governance processes.
• Collaborate with managers, HR&OD colleagues and Trade Union representatives.
