Overview
As a Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence Engineer within the Image Processing UK department, you will contribute to MBDA products and technologies. You will work in a department that develops world‑leading algorithms using imaging sensors to provide situational awareness and guide weapons with precision. Responsibilities
- Utilise Image Processing, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Computational Imaging techniques to conduct research into cutting‑edge technologies for future products. Applications may include classification, detection, tracking, and pose estimation.
- Develop algorithms as part of a wider product programme, collaborating with expert engineers and other graduates from diverse fields; gain an in‑depth understanding of the weapon’s design and functionality.
- Develop skills with tools and platforms including Matlab and Simulink, Python, Deep Learning libraries (e.g. PyTorch, scikit‑learn, ONNX), C/C++, and hardware development boards (e.g. NVIDIA Jetson).
- Participate in the Early Careers Programme and broader department activities, including international projects and potential collaboration with European colleagues.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related STEM discipline, minimum 2.2.
- Security clearance: British Citizenship or dual UK national with British citizenship (restricted and/or nationality rights may apply). All successful candidates will undergo BPSS checks after offer stage.

- Salary: £31,500 plus a £3,000 joining bonus. Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4–5 days on‑site per week due to workload classification.
