Job summary

Right2Work is recruiting a Job Coach for our Supported Internship program based in Carlisle and surrounding areas. The role starts with classroom-based sessions for the initial six weeks, then transitions to on-site job coaching with young adults in work placements.

Applicants should have a compassionate approach to supporting learners with SEND, be able to build strong employer relationships, and assist with travel training where appropriate. A full driving license is essential.

• Strong communication skills to engage and motivate individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Empathy and an understanding approach to supporting learners with additional needs.
• Good understanding of SEND and ability to adapt support accordingly.
• Honesty, integrity and building trust with clients, employers, and colleagues.
• Proactive mindset to take initiative in supporting interns to achieve goals.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Organised and adaptable with good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support interns in developing employability and independence skills.
• Deliver and assist with classroom-based sessions during the initial programme phase.
• Provide in-work support and job coaching in placement settings.
• Liaise with employers and EHCP coordinators, careers advisors, social workers, families where appropriate.
• Update and maintain learner records via our online system; contribute to reviews and assessments.
• Promote confidence, independence, and long-term employment outcomes.
