Job summary

The AA in Oldbury is seeking a JLR Technical Advisor to deliver expert remote technical support for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. You’ll diagnose faults, guide remote fixes, and arrange roadside assistance when needed. This hybrid role requires 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.

Ideal candidates hold NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent), with hands-on experience and strong communication skills to clearly explain technical information.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Significant hands-on experience within the motor vehicle repair industry.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly and confidently.
• Good IT skills and confidence using multiple computer systems.
• A customer-focused approach with a passion for delivering great service.
• A flexible attitude, with availability to work a rota covering Monday to Sunday between 8:00am and 7:00pm.

As a JLR Technical Advisor, you'll provide expert remote technical support to customers experiencing vehicle issues.

Using your diagnostic skills, you'll assess each situation and determine the most effective solution whether that's guiding the customer through a remote fix or arranging roadside assistance only when it's genuinely needed.

What will I be doing?

You’ll use a variety of diagnostic tools and information, including:

• Customer-reported symptoms
• Vehicle history
• Technical bulletins
• Connected vehicle data
• Diagnostic log files

You’ll also accurately record technical information across multiple systems, helping to improve future diagnostics and support business decision-making.

What do I need?

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving problems and thrives on helping others.

You’ll have:
