Job summary

The AA, in partnership with Jaguar Land Rover, is seeking a skilled Technical Advisor in Oldbury. This hybrid role offers 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, with a salary of £35,000 and a strong benefits package.

36.25 hours per week, typically between 8am and 7pm, across a Monday-Sunday rota. You’ll diagnose vehicle faults remotely, guide customers through fixes or coordinate roadside assistance when required, and record technical data across multiple systems to help improve

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Significant hands-on experience in the motor vehicle repair industry.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Excellent communication, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Good IT skills and confidence using multiple computer systems.
• Customer-focused with a passion for delivering great service.
• Flexible attitude; rota covers Mon-Sun 8:00–19:00.

As aJLR Technical Advisor, you'll provide expert remote technical support to customers experiencing vehicle issues.

Using your diagnostic skills, you'll assess each situation and determine the most effective solution whether that's guiding the customer through a remote fix or arranging roadside assistance only when it's genuinely needed.

What will I be doing?

You'll use a variety of diagnostic tools and information, including:

• Vehicle history
• Technical bulletins
• Diagnostic log files

You'll also accurately record technical information across multiple systems, helping to improve future diagnostics and support business decision-making.

What do I need?

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems and thrives on helping others.

You’ll have:
