Job summary

The Lanes Group is seeking a Jetting Engineer in Manchester to join our Operational Team. You will operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clear blockages in drains and sewers, inspect systems, and assist with CCTV inspections as required.

This hands-on role requires a full UK driving licence and a proactive approach to safety, data entry, and reporting findings to the team. You will work within a well-established team and contribute to keeping water networks flowing smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Attend to customers and inform them about works and concerns.
• Inspect drainage systems for blockages, leaks or damage.
• Report findings to appropriate teams.
• Assist with high-pressure water jetting operations.
• Operate jetting equipment to clear blockages in drains and sewers.
• Adjust pressure based on system condition and blockage type.
• Remove waste and prevent buildup in lines.
• Use laptop/tablet for data entry.
• Report safety issues according to company procedures.
• Maintain and service jetting equipment.
• Assist with CCTV inspections when required.

Job description

• Attending to customers, informing them of works due to be carried out and answering any concerns
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
• reporting all findings / data to the appropriate teams
• assisting with all aspects of high pressure water jetting
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
• Adjust pressure levels based on the condition of the system and the nature of the blockage (e.g., grease, debris, or tree roots).
• Use the equipment to remove waste materials and prevent build-up in drains and sewer lines.
• Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry purposes
• Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
• Assist with CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
