Worldpay (UK) Limited's Cambridge Tech team is seeking a Software Engineer - Java to help shape the future of global commerce. You will join a cross-functional team and develop high-quality software for a leading payments gateway, focusing on robustness, security and scalability.

The role involves collaborating with testers, product owners and a principal engineer to deliver reliable solutions across large databases and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Strong Java knowledge and experience delivering software.
• Database systems experience, ideally SQL-based Oracle or similar.
• Experience using Linux as development/production environment.
• Familiarity with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Develop changes in Java, SQL, and PL/SQL for the ecommerce payments gateway.
• Review payment processing flows and analyze production data.
• Collaborate with test engineers to scope tests and automate integration/system tests.
• Design rollout and monitoring strategies for new features and deployments.
