Job summary

RED Global is seeking a Java + AWS Developer for a 12-month AWS-based cloud delivery project based in the UK. The role is remote (UK-based) with occasional travel to London if required.

Key requirements include strong Java (17+), Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS). CI/CD with GitHub Actions/Jenkins/GitLab CI and Docker are essential, along with JUnit/Mockito tests. Active SC clearance is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Java development (Java 17+).
• Proven expertise with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on exposure to core AWS services in production environments (e.g., Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS).
• Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI) and Docker containerisation.
• Experience with automated testing tools (JUnit, Mockito).
• Desirable: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK), event-driven systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS), or monitoring tools (ELK, CloudWatch).
• Active SC Clearance is strictly required.

On behalf of one of our key partners, RED is hiring a Java + AWS Developer for an AWS-based cloud delivery project.

The initial contract runs for 12 months, starting on 1st December 2026.

This role offers a flexible working model:

• Remote (UK-based) with occasional ad-hoc travel to London if required.

Specific skills/experience required:

• Strong experience in Java development (preferably Java 17+).
• Proven expertise with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.v
• Hands-on exposure to core AWS services in production environments (e.g., Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS).
