Job summary

TELSTRA Associates, a leading IT consultancy in London, seeks a Java Developer on a contract basis to work on a telecoms project in London onsite three days per week. Strong experience in Java, Spring and AWS is required, with hands-on work across modern tech stacks and cloud services.

You will design, develop and deploy web apps, RESTful APIs or event‑driven systems, collaborating across teams and ensuring quality through automated tests.

Qualifications

• Strong Java and Spring knowledge with AWS, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana and Jenkins.
• Experience designing software solutions across technologies and domains.
• Ability to work well in cross‑team environments.
• Hands-on in designing, developing and deploying web apps, RESTful APIs or event‑driven systems with Kafka.
• Experience with automated test frameworks considering non‑functional requirements.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux and basic scripting (Bash).
• Self-driven, eager to learn and stay updated with new technologies and best practices.

Job description

A leading IT Consultancy is seeking a Java Developer on a contract basis to work on a project with a leading telecoms client.

You will be needed to work onsite in London 3 times a week.

The Java Developer must have strong experience in Java, Spring and AWS

Experience required:

• Strong Java and Spring knowledge and experience with technologies such as AWS, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Jenkins


• Good overview of other relevant technologies and experience with designing software solutions


• Ability to work well not only in your team but also in a cross-team environment.


• Hands on experience in designing, developing and successful deployment of web applications, RESTful APIs or event-driven systems and asynchronous messaging using Kafka


• Experience with automated test frameworks including considerations for non-functional requirements


• Knowledge of Unix/Linux and Scripting languages (Bash, etc.)


• Being self-driven and eager to learn and stay updated with the latest technologies, frameworks, and best practices.


• Creative thinking skills and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
