Job summary

SJIT in London is seeking a Java Developer - Back End with AWS & Kotlin for a 12-month onsite assignment. The project focuses on migrating an AWS-based environment, upgrading to JDK17, and automating infrastructure across CloudFormation, CDK and Terraform.

You will work within a collaborative team, deliver scalable Java backend services, drive IaC automation, and ensure smooth migration of service infrastructure while coordinating progress and blockers with peers.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java backend development and AWS migration.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, CDK).
• Terraform/DevOps/IaC automation experience.
• Experience migrating service infrastructure and upgrading to JDK17.
• Ability to spin up services in new region and validate via tests.

Responsibilities

Java Developer - Back End with AWS & Kotlin

London - Onsite - 12 months

SJIT is hiring Software Engineers for a 9-month remote project, working with a leading Global Big Four client.

The project is part of a large AWS migration, and experience with AWS and Infrastructure automation is critical. The work includes migration to JDK17, automation of AWS infrastructure creation, removing internal and external dependencies to non-supported services, and demonstrating success by spinning up the services in the new region and passing integration and non-regression tests. (The migration of data is not in scope)

The role will need a mix of experience; the following are key to being successful:

You'll be working on a JDK upgrade, service migration, and IaC Automation, working within a team, updating on progress, blockers etc. CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform are essential skills.
