What will you do?
Play and test games thoroughly. Identify linguistic bugs and report them clearly using our bug database, communicating effectively across global boundaries. Your attention to detail and perfectionist approach will be key in ensuring high-quality game releases.
What would you do at work?
- Ensure games and applications provide the best user experience by being linguistic bug-free.
- Check in-game text for linguistic accuracy, correctness, and cultural appropriateness.
- Follow Universally Speaking's LQA processes and industry standards.
- Use bug databases to write detailed reports, demonstrating your commitment to quality.
- Take ownership of bugs to ensure they are fixed and correctly implemented.
- Become an LQA Expert across various projects with opportunities for specialization.
- Create, manage, and execute test cases throughout the project lifecycle, including documentation and reporting.
- Collaborate with developers during requirement gathering to support comprehensive testing.
- Proactively seek improvements and create efficiencies in your work processes.
- Work cooperatively with the QA team.

Requirements
You are a great match if you:
- Are an expert in Japanese.
- Have proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Are passionate about video games.
- Are a team player, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Are proactive, persistent, and enthusiastic.
- Have a keen eye for detail and focus on quality.
- Are proficient with computers, including MS Office Suite and database handling.
- Have the Right to Work in the UK.
Additional useful skills (training available if not)
- Experience in LQA, translation, or proofreading.
- Familiarity with LQA tools and test case management software.
- Knowledge of CAT tools (e.g., MemoQ).
- Understanding of the video game industry and trends.
- Higher degree in linguistics (desirable but not essential).
