What will you do?

You will play and test the games thoroughly, focusing on identifying linguistic bugs. As a perfectionist, you'll communicate clearly in English to report issues using bug databases, ensuring clarity across global teams.

What would you do at work?

• Ensure games and applications are linguistically bug-free to provide the best user experience
• Check in-game text for linguistic accuracy, correctness, and cultural appropriateness
• Follow Universally Speaking's established LQA processes and standards
• Use industry-standard bug databases to write detailed bug reports
• Take ownership to verify bugs are fixed and correctly implemented
• Develop expertise across a range of projects, specializing as needed
• Create, manage, and execute test cases throughout the project lifecycle
• Participate in gathering test requirements with developers to support comprehensive testing
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
• Collaborate with the QA team

Requirements

• Are an expert in Japanese
• Have proficiency in written and spoken English
• Are passionate about video games

• Are proficient with computers, including MS Office Suite, database handling, and record keeping
• Have the right to work in the UK

It’s useful if you have some of the following, but training can be provided:

• Experience in LQA, translation, or proofreading
• Familiarity with LQA software tools, test case management, and text editing tools
• Knowledge of CAT tools (e.g., MemoQ)
• Understanding of the video game industry and trends
• Higher degree in linguistics (desirable but not essential)
