Job description

Location: United Kingdom (UK-based)
Security Clearance: Eligible for SC clearance or already SC-cleared
Engagement Type: Contract (Full-time with flexibility for potential short pauses with advance notice)
Project Type: Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) - Network Connectivity Transformation
Duration: Ongoing, aligned with project phases

The Test Manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of testing within the programme, with clear deliverables.

Team & Execution Management:

1. Lead and manage a virtual test team across multiple workstreams
2. Control and coordinate all test execution activities
3. Act as backup Test Analyst on site when required

Test Planning & Documentation:

1. Create and maintain Test Plans and Test Completion Reports
2. Define and manage Test Conditions, Use Cases, and Test Data
3. Develop and maintain Test Environment Specifications and Configuration Management documentation

Scheduling & Resource Management:

1. Plan and organise resources, environments, and test schedules across workstreams
2. Ensure timely allocation of test resources in line with project milestones
3. Manage and administer defects using ALM or similar platforms
4. Proactively identify and communicate testing risks, issues, and dependencies

Stakeholder Engagement:

1. Interface with key stakeholders across the programme and customer teams
2. Produce and present regular test status reports

Infrastructure Review:

1. Conduct internal reviews on test scripts and infrastructure components such as Routers, Switches, and Firewalls

Required Skills & Experience

Technical and Practical Skills:

1. Hands-on experience with ALM for test and defect management
2. Knowledge of Cisco Router/Switch console commands
3. Ability to interpret HLD/LLD network infrastructure design documents
4. Familiarity with network and service management tools (eg StableNet)
5. Experience in setting up network test equipment for RFC 2544 testing
6. Understanding of Data Centre operations and standard procedures

Test Management Skills:

1. Comprehensive understanding of various testing phases:
2. Unit, System Integration, Functional, Non-Functional, Disaster Recovery, Operational Acceptance
3. Strong coordination and scheduling capabilities
4. Effective communication of test progress, risks, and dependencies
