This is an exciting opportunity for an IT‑savvy individual looking for a part-time position with the potential to become permanent. You will work closely with an external IT service provider, customers and internal teams, supporting telecoms, broadband, IT systems and projects across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Strong IT literacy and confidence using a range of IT systems.
• Experience in a customer-facing B2B or B2C environment.
• Basic understanding of networking and VoIP systems.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding new customers onto telecoms and broadband services.
• Acting as the main contact between the business and external service providers.
• Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring SLAs are met.
• Managing customer enquiries, complaints and service issues professionally.
• Provisioning new services with internal teams and external providers.
• Maintaining accurate customer and occupier records.
• Monitoring bandwidth usage, connectivity, telemetry and uptime across multiple sites.
• Setting up and managing Wi‑Fi-only network sites and VoIP profiles.
• Troubleshooting basic equipment and connectivity issues.
• Resolving telecoms billing queries.
• Assisting with company-wide IT and telecoms projects.

IT & Telecoms Support Specialist

Location: Peterborough
Hours: 25-26 hours per week, across 4 or 5 days
Pay: Up to £15.42 per hour

This is an exciting opportunity for an IT-savvy individual looking for a part-time position with the potential to become permanent. You will work closely with an external IT service provider, customers and internal teams, supporting telecoms, broadband, IT systems and projects across multiple sites.

You will receive a comprehensive induction and training before taking responsibility for your own workload.

The Role

As an IT & Telecoms Support Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of IT and telecoms services, acting as a key link between the business, its customers and external service providers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Onboarding new customers onto telecoms and broadband services.
• Acting as the main point of contact between the business and external service providers.
• Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring agreed SLAs are met.
• Managing customer enquiries, complaints and service issues professionally.
• Working alongside internal Centre Managers to ensure new services are correctly provisioned.
• Maintaining accurate customer and occupier records.
• Monitoring bandwidth usage, connectivity, telemetry and uptime across multiple sites.
• Setting up and managing Wi-Fi-only network sites.
• Supporting VoIP systems, including profiles, ring groups and auto attendants.
• Managing telephone diverts, port requests and the setup of hard and soft phones.
• Troubleshooting basic equipment and connectivity issues, including switches, cabling and port testing.
• Resolving telecoms billing queries.
• Managing IT hardware-related tasks.
• Assisting with company-wide IT and telecoms projects.
• Working alongside the outsourced IT provider on connectivity projects.
• Monitoring the performance of external IT suppliers against agreed SLAs.
• Assisting with process improvements and automation across the business.

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident with IT, highly organised and comfortable dealing with both customers and technical suppliers.

You will ideally have:

• Strong IT literacy and confidence using a range of IT systems.
• Experience working in a customer-facing B2B or B2C environment.
• A basic understanding of networking and VoIP systems.
• Experience or knowledge of VLANs, switches, firewalls and network troubleshooting would be advantageous.
• Strong Microsoft Office and general systems skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• The confidence to work independently and take ownership of issues.
• A customer-focused approach and the ability to build positive relationships.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to troubleshooting.
• The ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers.
