Job description

Within our IT Department, we are looking to recruit a SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR. This role may be called other titles elsewhere, such as Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer, but essentially, it is the Technical Lead for our Windows VMWare environments.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure the Mamas & Papas Infrastructure is proactively maintained and monitored.
• Serve as the Technical Lead for Windows VMWare environments.
• Maintain a technical understanding of REDHAT LINUX servers.
• Design and implement new provisions into the Mamas & Papas estate, including automation.
• Conduct design reviews and enhance processes for performance benefits and cost efficiency.
• Follow approved procedures regarding change control and documentation standards.
• Diagnose and resolve issues escalated by the IT Support team across hardware and software applications at supported sites.
• Train and mentor members of the IT Support team to transfer skills.

Key Requirements

• Experience with REDHAT LINUX or similar UNIX/Linux technologies.
• Knowledge of HPe Infrastructure (Server, Blade, SAN).
• Experience in VMWare Infrastructure Administration.
• Good understanding of general networking protocols (TCP, DNS, WAN, LAN, MPLS).
• Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues.
