Job summary

DK Recruitment is seeking a capable IT support specialist to join our Plymouth-based team. The role covers 1st/2nd line support for users worldwide, with a focus on maintaining secure IT infrastructure.

You will install, configure, and upgrade software and hardware, respond to inquiries, and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to meet project milestones. Some UK travel is involved.

Qualifications

• Experience providing 1st/2nd line IT support across users or sites.
• Experience with Hyper-V and VMware virtualization environments.
• Willingness to travel UK-wide and internationally when required.
• Valid UK driving licence and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain a secure computer environment.
• Plan and execute software/hardware installations and upgrades.
• Provide timely technical assistance to users for software, hardware, systems and infrastructure.
• Coordinate work with project plans and inform management of status and issues.
• Collaborate with colleagues, managers and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and legislation.
• Undertake other duties as required.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a very well-established business, supporting across different UK sites, with some UK travel involved.

The role is based on site, in Plymouth. Reporting to the IT Manager.

This is a 1st & 2nd line Support role for all company users worldwide with IT Infrastructure maintenance.

Main Duties:

• Monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting a secure computer environment.
• Performing the planning, coordination and execution of software and hardware installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrades.
• Providing technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about software, hardware, systems and infrastructure.
• Manage work to meet milestones in accordance with the project plan and keep management and project managers informed of issues and status'
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, managers, and relevant stakeholders.
• Complying with organisational policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
• Undertaking any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
