Job summary

Proactive Personnel Ltd in Telford is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide hands-on technical support to computer users, resolving hardware, software and network issues to keep the organisation running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have strong Windows, networking, and hardware knowledge, plus experience with M365 and Entra environments, and a background in IT support or helpdesk.

This role offers Monday to Friday hours, 39.5 per week, with a salary of £29,000–£38,000 per annum DOE

Qualifications

Experience supporting users with Windows OS, networks and hardware.
Familiar with M365 and Entra environments.
Background in IT support, helpdesk or desktop engineering.
Knowledge of Unix, Linux and IBM systems.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Be the first point of contact for end users & for support requests
Find & fix faults in a timely manner
Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
Update knowledgebases for others to refer to
Talk staff through actions to help set up systems or resolve issues
Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
Replace parts as required
Support the roll-out of new applications
Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
Test and evaluate new technology
