Job summary

Safer Hand Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic IT Support Technician for a full-time, office-based role in Stone, Staffordshire. You will be the first point of contact for staff IT issues and own problems through to resolution, while coordinating with external IT providers to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires experience in IT support, strong technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience in IT support roles such as IT Technician or Helpdesk.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, software, hardware and mobile devices.
  • Proactive, well-organised and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for IT support queries from office- and field-based employees.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and system issues to resolution.
  • Liaise with external IT and telephony providers to resolve issues and support business operations.
  • Manage laptops, tablets, mobile devices and associated IT equipment.
  • Set up equipment and user access for new starters, and coordinate returns for leavers.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets.
  • Support IT security initiatives and assist with GDPR compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with external partners to ensure systems operate effectively.
  • Research and recommend technologies and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage ordering, recycling and maintenance of IT equipment.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in an IT Support, IT Technician, Helpdesk or ICT Support role
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, software, hardware and mobile devices
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Proactive and commercially aware approach to technology and process improvement
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a growing organisation
  • Experience working with external IT providers is advantageous
