Job summary

The Marine Biological Association is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide front-line IT assistance to staff, deploy equipment, and administer the SharePoint Intranet. The role covers user account management, access card issuance, and collaboration with the IT team to improve support processes.

The successful candidate will have solid troubleshooting skills, experience with Windows, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint, and a proactive approach to data security and staff training.

Qualifications

• Solid troubleshooting skills across hardware and software.
• Experience with Windows operating systems.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint administration.
• Ability to deploy IT equipment and manage access control.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve IT support requests from staff.
• Maintain and deploy IT equipment and user accounts.
• Administer the MBA SharePoint Intranet and site access.
• Issue staff access cards and manage access permissions.
• Provide training and guidance on IT systems.
• Escalate complex issues to the IT Systems Manager.
• Ensure data security and backups.
