Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd in Newport is seeking an IT Support Technician for a long-term temporary role with a global manufacturing company. The role runs 08:30–16:30, Monday to Friday, on-site with parking.

You will set up new IT equipment, support end users, manage hardware, passwords, networks, and raise tickets. The role requires driving license and own vehicle as it operates across two sites; strong customer service and communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are

Qualifications

• Ideally some 1st line support experience or knowledge of IT equipment.
• Comfortable communicating via telephone, email and face to face.
• Must have driving licence and own vehicle as role is based across two sites.

Responsibilities

• Initial setup on desks and checking networks
• Build and repair laptops and resetting passwords
• Installation of equipment and checking networks
• Collect equipment from stores area
• Follow SOPs and processes
• Manage end user hardware: setup, repair, troubleshooting
• Printer and copier basic support
• Assist with 1st line support and raising tickets
• Assist with stock levels of IT equipment
• Strong customer service and communication skills required
• Role based across two sites; driving licence and own vehicle required

IT Support Technician - £13.45 per hour plus excellent benefits

• Newport, On-site Parking, 28 days Holiday (rising ro 33), Pension, subsidised canteen We are recruiting an IT Support Technician to join a global manufacturing company based in Newport.

Our client are a market leading company within their field

• reporting to the IT Manager and working as part of a small and friendly team, this is a varied role which will involve setting up new IT equipment, as well as moving existing kit.

Key Responsibilities

• Initial set up on desks and checking networks
• Build and repair Laptops and resetting passwords
• Installation of equipment and checking networks
• Collecting various pieces of equipment and KIT from stores area
• Follow SOP's and other processes/procedures where appropriate
• Manage end user hardware including setup, repair, and troubleshooting
• Printer and copier basic support
• Assisting the team with providing 1st line support and raising tickets
• Assist with ensuring stock levels of IT equipment are maintained
• The successful candidate will have strong customer service and communication skills
• this role will be based across two sites, so you must have a driving licence and your own vehicle.

Your primary function will be assisting colleagues with the smooth transition of new and existing IT equipment and communicating updates to colleagues and team members at all times.

You will ideally have some 1st line support experience or good knowledge of IT equipment.

These roles are to start as soon as possible and will be long term contract positions.
