This is a new role working for a company operating in the commercial workspace sector. The company has a wide footprint across the UK, with over 26 buildings and more than 9,000 desks.
The position involves being the SME and go-to person for all IT-related matters within the business. It is an all-round role combining some hands-on support with managing outsourced third-party MSPs and technology providers, who handle connectivity across the UK estate.
The environment is Microsoft 365, and support tasks include training super-users on first-line issues regionally, collaborating with partners to identify recurring problems, and implementing proactive solutions.
Key initial responsibilities include leading SharePoint and MS Teams management, including creating and maintaining SharePoint sites and MS Teams structures, as well as training and supporting staff across the UK.
This role is essentially a "department of one" IT management position, requiring a proactive attitude and personality. It involves hands-on support when needed, but primarily guiding and setting expectations with partner companies. Typical responsibilities include:
