Job summary

Arvato is seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join the IT team at our Birmingham site. You will provide first-line support, manage IT infrastructure, and ensure reliable services for colleagues across the business.

You will troubleshoot hardware, software, network and account issues, deploy devices, manage AD and policy settings, and support Microsoft 365 environments. The role is on-site with an emphasis on rapid incident resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT Support/Desktop Support or Systems Administrator roles.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Defender for Endpoint and Modern Workplace technologies.
• Good understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
• Experience supporting PCs, servers, printers and peripherals.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with a customer-first approach.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for IT support via the ITSM system.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and user account issues.
• Build and deploy laptops/desktops using Modern Workplace technologies.
• Install, configure and maintain IT hardware, software and telecoms equipment.
• Manage Active Directory user accounts, permissions and Group Policy.
• Support Microsoft Intune, Defender for Endpoint and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Perform server maintenance, backups and ensure system security.
• Maintain IT documentation and SOPs.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve IT processes and end-user experience.
