Job summary

Interface Recruitment in Bolton is seeking an IT support technician for 1st/2nd line duties across desktops, servers and common Microsoft technologies. The role covers SQL, Active Directory, Exchange and Hyper-V migrations, with on-site work at multiple North West locations.

You will join a small IT team supporting ERP, CCTV and networking, with a 37.5-hour week, on-site parking, and an on-call rota. Driving licence and travel flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• Strong first and second line IT support experience.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft SQL.
• Experience supporting desktops, laptops and servers.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange and Windows Server.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second-line support to users across the business.
• Maintain desktops, laptops, servers and Microsoft applications.
• Support Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory and Exchange environments.
• Assist with Microsoft server administration.
• Support a planned migration from VMware to Hyper-V.
• Troubleshoot networks across our head office and retail estate.
• Support backup and disaster-recovery processes using Veeam.
• Provide support for ERP technology across multiple locations.
• Use Microsoft SQL to investigate issues and support business systems.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and procedures.
• Work with external suppliers and technology partners.
• Contribute to infrastructure improvements and wider IT projects.

Salary: £30,000 - 40,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong first and second line IT support experience

• A good understanding of networking and infrastructure troubleshooting
• The ability to investigate unfamiliar problems and work towards a solution

• A clean driving licence, access to your own vehicle and flexibility to travel between our locations when required

More:

We are a successful and growing multi-site retail and manufacturing business based in Bolton, working predominantly on-site with travel across the North West. You will join our established three-person IT team in a varied, hands-on role with broad exposure to infrastructure, business systems and operational technology. The position is permanent, with hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:45pm, a 37.5-hour working week.
