Job summary

Brampton Recruitment Ltd is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join a busy Stoke-on-Trent team. This role covers 2nd and 3rd line support, splitting time between office-based tasks and customer-site visits.

You will maintain and improve IT environments for a range of SME clients, with focus on Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V and Azure. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with servers, backups, networking and security, and demonstrates strong problem-solving and

Qualifications

• 2+ years in 2nd/3rd line IT support
• On-site customer interaction and independent issue resolution
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V and Azure administration
• Experience with servers, backups and network infrastructure
• Good networking, security and patch management understanding
• Familiarity with ITIL practices is a plus
• Experience with IT ticketing systems and service management tools
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and hold a UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Acting as a 2nd and 3rd line escalation point for technical issues
• Visiting customer sites to resolve problems and perform maintenance
• Monitor servers and backups, investigate alerts and resolve issues
• Install, configure and maintain LAN/WAN networks, servers, firewalls and security appliances
• Administer Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V and Azure environments
• Manage security settings, updates and patch management
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking and system failures on-site or remotely
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and support records
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective service delivery
• Support the development of junior engineers and expand technical knowledge
