Job summary

VWFS in Milton Keynes is offering an IT Services Undergraduate placement to gain hands-on experience in a forward‑facing IT department. You will rotate through service desk, application management and monitoring, building practical skills with systems, services and business users.

The role invites you to contribute to real business outcomes, work in a hybrid setup (3 days in the office per week) and start dates around June/July.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support to users, resolving issues quickly and escalating where needed.
• Understand and apply IT methodologies, tools and processes.
• Work with business users to understand requirements and translate them into IT solutions.
• Gain insight into application support for SAP, Web BI, local business applications and PowerCurve Collections.
• Assist in resolving application incidents and service requests.
• Monitor IT systems and applications using tools such as Splunk and AppInsights.
• Set up and maintain dashboards showing system health, performance metrics and key indicators.
• Detect anomalies, performance issues and security incidents through alerts.
• Design dashboards and reports for operational and business needs.

About The Role

Location: Milton Keynes

Closing Date: 30th September 2026

Salary: £23,915.49

Contract: 12-13months FTC Start dates are usually in June/July

Hybrid working: We want you to get the best out of your placement, so we operate a hybrid policy where undergraduates work in the office 3 days per week. There may be times where you will need to be in more frequently depending on the needs of the business.

To apply for our undergraduate placement scheme, you must be studying for an undergraduate degree that requires a placement year. Master’s students are not eligible for this placement.

Please consider before applying if you live more than 60 minutes away from post code MK15 8HG, that you would need to relocate to either Milton Keynes or be a commutable distance (within 60 minutes).
