Job summary

Volkswagen Financial Services (UK) is seeking an undergraduate to join the Customer & Product Transformation function as a Project Management Undergraduate in Milton Keynes. You will support projects, deliver clear reporting and governance, and assist a Project Manager on a small project to build business and stakeholder skills.

The role is a 12-13 month FTC with hybrid working (office 3 days/week). Applicants must be studying a business degree with placement year and be within commuting

Responsibilities

• Support production of clear project status reports and maintain high-quality information.
• Monitor project plans, milestones and dependencies with delivery teams.
• Raise and track resource requests and support budget administration.
• Prepare meeting packs, minutes, and maintain logs for risks, actions, issues and dependencies.

Contract: 12-13 months FTC Start dates are usually June/July

Hybrid working: We want you to get the best out of your placement, so we operate a hybrid policy where undergraduates work in the office 3 days per week. There may be times where you will need to be in more frequently depending on the needs of the business.

Are you organised, curious and ready to see how real projects come together? We’re looking for an undergraduate to join our Customer & Product Transformation function as a Project Management Undergraduate. You’ll gain hands‑on experience supporting projects and programmes across the business, helping teams stay on track through clear reporting, effective governance and strong collaboration. You’ll also have the opportunity to support a Project Manager with the delivery of a small project, building valuable business, analytical and stakeholder management skills along the way.

What will you be doing?

• Support the production of clear, accurate project status reports and help Project Managers maintain high‑quality project information.
• Help monitor project and programme plans, key milestones and dependencies, working with Project Support Officers and delivery teams.
• Raise and track resource requests, support project budget administration, and help prepare for quality and stage reviews.
• Prepare and distribute meeting and steering committee packs, complete meeting minutes, maintain Risk, Action, Issue and Dependency logs, and build positive stakeholder relationships across the business.

• Currently studying towards a business related degree that includes a placement year.
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with a willingness to continue developing these skills.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to understand the wider context behind information and decisions.
• Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• Proactive and organised, with the confidence to use your own initiative, take responsibility and keep learning.
• Adaptable and comfortable balancing changing priorities, deadlines and different project requirements.
• A collaborative team player who can also work independently and constructively challenge information when needed.
• An improvement mindset, awareness of AI and its capabilities, and an interest in identifying better ways of working.

What our recruitment process looks like:

• Apply and upload your CV, covering letter and answer a few application questions.
• You’ll be invited to complete a Situational Judgement Test. This is a short multiple-choice question set to help us understand how you may approach situations.
• If you pass this stage, you will be invited to complete an online video interview where you will have the opportunity to tell us more about yourself.
• If successful, your last step in the journey is to attend an in-person Assessment Centre at our Milton Keynes office. You’ll also meet some of our managers and our current undergraduates to find out more about a placement year with us.
