The Infrastructure Platforms team manages all server-related infrastructure and hardware within the datacentres in Clarks, including virtualisation, storage, compute, backup, and recovery. We now have an excellent opportunity for someone keen to gain experience in a broad range of systems and services. In larger companies, roles tend to be more specialized, but working in our small team means this role encompasses many technologies.
What You'll Do
Your daily activities may include remote management of operating systems, performance monitoring and tuning, troubleshooting (often involving multiple teams and out-of-hours support), hardware replacement, storage appliance maintenance, cabling, and firmware updates. The role is diverse, and flexibility is essential.
This position requires a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. Given the small size of the infrastructure team, effective interaction with team members during troubleshooting is critical.
You may be required to provide out-of-hours support and hands-on assistance as needed. Since the data centres and hardware are UK-based, short-notice travel may be necessary.
