Job summary

Trakm8 is seeking an IT & Service Delivery Engineer based in Coleshill to ensure the availability, performance and security of telematics and corporate IT services. You will operate across on-premises data centres and AWS, supporting 800+ servers and eight production platforms with a small, multi-skilled team.

Responsibilities include incident ownership from detection to root cause, patching, automation and continuous improvement of monitoring and resilience.

Qualifications

• Strong problem solving and rapid system familiarisation across diverse tech stacks.
• Hands-on Linux administration in production environments, including fault diagnosis and patching.
• Solid Windows Server administration, Active Directory and Group Policy experience.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing, VPNs and firewall policy.
• Understanding Kubernetes and containerised services; day-to-day operation and diagnosis.
• Scripting/automation using Bash, Python or PowerShell; version-controlled configurations.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to data centres as needed.
• Willingness to join 24x7 on-call rota with flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health, capacity and performance of telematics platforms and IT services.
• Investigate and resolve incidents across Linux/Windows, networks, storage and databases.
• Design, build and maintain secure server infrastructure across data centres, virtualised and AWS.
• Manage backups, replication, and DR testing with evidence-based recovery.
• Administer Active Directory, DNS, patching and endpoint protection.
• Plan and deliver changes via RFC/release windows with test, rollback evidence.
• Produce regular reporting on availability, capacity, patching and security.
