Job summary

QA is offering an IT Security Apprenticeship at our Head Office in the North East. You will work with the Security team, assist IT support with tickets and liaise across all sites.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential, with a focus on learning security operations and incident handling. You will complete foundational qualifications in ICT, gain hands-on experience in security tools, and contribute to audits, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Entry requirements show a path via ICT-related qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Flexibility in combining qualifications and experience is acceptable.
• International equivalents must be validated against UK qualifications at application.

Responsibilities

• Assist in investigating security alerts and incidents under guidance of senior analysts.
• Follow procedures to analyse and remediate security issues.
• Support rollout of new security tools, configurations and controls.
• Complete routine security audits and ensure findings are documented and escalated.
• Test and evaluate new security technologies as part of continuous improvement.
• Produce clear procedural documentation and reports.
• Assist support team in remediation of tickets and escalated issues.
• Explain troubleshooting steps to employees face-to-face, via phone, or remotely.
• Diagnose and resolve system, network, hardware, and software issues.
