Job summary

Ofgem is Britain's independent energy regulator. We seek a Principal Security Specialist (IT/OT) to lead the design, assessment and implementation of innovative security solutions protecting critical systems across the energy sector.

This permanent role sits in the Cyber Guidance & Monitoring team within Ofgem's Cyber and Emerging Technologies Directorate, focusing on resilience and secure-by-design principles. Hybrid working with central offices in London, Glasgow or Cardiff is offered.

Qualifications

• -leading role managing technical security risk and delivering improvement plans in complex environments
• providing security advice and assurance to stakeholders responsible for critical systems
• applying security frameworks, risk methods and standards (NCSC CAF, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, IEC/ISA 62443)
• strong stakeholder management and communication to technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• lead high-profile security improvement projects engaging internal/external stakeholders
• shape security posture and implement best practices in line with NCSC guidance
• influence digital strategies and champion secure-by-design principles
