With Clean Power 2030 accelerating digitalisation, infrastructure expansion and the arrival of new technologies, you’ll take on a highly specialist role with scope to shape how the energy sector manages supply chains and protects its most important assets.

Job description

We’re looking for someone with significant technical leadership experience in cyber security and critical national infrastructure, combined with the strategic judgement to balance security requirements, risk and wider commercial and economic considerations. You’ll also bring substantial experience of cyber policy or strategy in a regulated environment, accomplished stakeholder leadership skills and the ability to turn complex technical issues into clear advice for senior-level audiences.

Essential Criteria:

• Significant experience of technical leadership in cyber security of critical national infrastructure, such as energy. Proven ability of making strategic policy recommendations that balance risks, trade-offs, and wider commercial and economic considerations. Able to understand, communicate and balance security or technical needs, alongside wider duties. (LEAD)
• Significant experience of providing technical advice on complex national cyber policies or strategies in a regulated setting. Strong track record of balancing governance of workstreams with agility and delivery at pace. Evidence of establishing relationships with new partners or sectors. (LEAD)
• Significant experience of leading the strategic policy development of high-profile, cross-agency workstreams, and managing the input of relevant internal and external partners to appraise policy proposals. Strong track record of engaging, advising, and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
• An effective and engaging communicator, both verbally and in writing. Able to distil complex or technical subject matter into clear, relevant messages tailored to varied audiences, including senior stakeholders.
