Job summary

Capgemini in Glasgow is hiring an IT/OT Engineer to connect operations with enterprise IT, enabling secure data flow from control systems to cloud platforms. You will design, configure and support integrations using PLCs, SCADA, OPC UA and MQTT, and build lightweight Python pipelines for automation and data handling.

You will collaborate with OT, IT, infrastructure and data teams to solve complex integration challenges, contributing to edge-to-cloud architectures in a consultancy-led environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of OT environments and industrial data flow.
• Hands-on experience with IT/OT integration technologies (OPC UA, MQTT).
• Proficient in Python for automation, data processing and API integration.
• Excellent consulting and cross-team communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure and support integrations between OT systems and enterprise applications, data platforms and cloud services.
• Develop and maintain industrial data pipelines using OPC UA, MQTT and edge platforms.
• Create Python scripts for automation, data transformation, testing and diagnostics.
• Collaborate with OT, IT, infrastructure and data teams to troubleshoot integration issues and advance IT/OT convergence initiatives.
