Job Description:
IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator
Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hour week)
Location: Southampton office based

Purpose of the Role
Responsible for managing technology efficiently through tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other IT departments to ensure system components are properly managed.
- Designs and develops integrated solutions to meet business needs or improve Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems
- Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for projects to ensure cost-effective operations. Recommends approaches based on feasibility
- Develops technical expertise on current and emerging network & telecommunications systems
- Communicates effectively about system operations and changes
- Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory standards
- Manages capacity, redundancy, and health of network & telecommunications systems
- Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded
- Follows standards and procedures proficiently
- Communicates effectively in writing and verbally within teams
- Aligns work with Garmin’s Mission and Quality policies, showing enthusiasm for company success
- Mentors less experienced IT Administrators
- Provides reliable solutions through problem solving and root cause analysis
- Performs minor system upgrades
- Uses tools and scripting for efficient management
- Recommends improvements at the component level
- Identifies system interdependencies
- Coordinates cross-team changes
- Participates in system roadmaps and planning
- Leads meetings with IT users
- Adapts well to change and welcomes feedback
- Monitors appropriate security access levels
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently
- Experience in implementing technology solutions successfully
- Strong communication skills in small team settings
- Organized and diligent in documentation
- Deep understanding of IT Infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice
